How to measure foot length
- Have your child stand barefoot on a sturdy piece of paper with the heel against the wall.
- Draw a line at the tip of the longest toe.
- Measure the distance from the wall to the line in centimeters.
- Repeat this on the other foot, using the largest size.
💡 Tip: measure your feet at the end of the day, as they are often slightly larger then.

What does 'growth space' mean?
- Plenty of room to grow : ideal if you want the shoe to last longer, for example at the start of the season.
- Normal : perfect fit without being too loose, good for immediate use.
- Little room for growth : suitable if your child is almost fully grown or if the shoe must fit tightly.
Helpful tips

Requirements for good children's shoes
Toddlers and preschoolers can already use a firmer sole to further develop their muscles. Choose leather shoes throughout your child's development. Leather shoes prevent infections and provide the feet with more oxygen. Furthermore, leather conforms beautifully to the shape of the foot, allowing feet to develop beautifully and healthily. Our children's shoes are of high quality to support your child's growth.
What should a baby shoe meet?
Good baby shoes are essential for healthy foot development. Babies' feet are made up primarily of cartilage, so it's good to let children learning to walk around barefoot. This is easy indoors, but not outdoors, of course. Therefore, choose shoes that support the development of children's feet:
- When choosing outdoor shoes for babies, choose soft, leather shoes. Proper muscle development is important for babies, so the smaller the foot, the more flexible the sole.
- In addition, the foot needs good support at the back, this is called the counterfort;
- When little ones cannot walk yet, socks or baby booties are the best solution to keep their feet nice and warm.
At Maxime, you can find baby shoes from brands like Shoesme or Naturino . These are perfect for those first steps. Their flexibility allows the foot to develop properly, in the most natural way.

You can determine the correct shoe size by measuring their feet and then calculating the size. We'll give you helpful tips on measuring feet for the perfect baby and children's shoes!
Measuring baby feet and children's feet
To choose the best baby or children's shoes, it's important to determine the correct size. Shoes in the right size will fit your feet perfectly, providing optimal support. Measure your feet in centimeters and then determine the correct size using the size chart. Keep a piece of paper, a pen, and a ruler handy when measuring your shoe size:
- Place your child's foot on the paper and draw a line at the heel and the big toe. Measure from the heel to the longest tip of the toe;
- It's important that your baby or child is upright. So hold a baby while they're standing with their feet on the paper;
- Check carefully that your baby doesn't tuck in their toes. It's best to measure baby feet when they're asleep, when they're relaxed and not curled up.
- If you are between two sizes, take the larger size;
- The back of the heel always protrudes slightly, please take this into account;
- When determining the size, also note that babies and children's feet are often not the same size, so it is possible that one foot is slightly larger or smaller than the other!
